So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Galatians 6:9 NLT
Most often we want change but we are not willing to do the necessary work to arrive at the change we desire to see. It has been said that consistency is the key to breakthrough. In other words, if lasting change is what you expect, it will take consistent action to get you there.
As we look at the definition of consistent we find that is marked by harmony, regularity, or steady continuity. It is free from variation or contradiction. Is this the effort you are putting forward in accomplishing your goals? If not, it is time to get to work.
For many consistency usually goes out the window whenever discouragement comes in to play. It gets tiring doing the right things over and over again just to be disappointed. This can be the case in healthy choices, relationships, or even goal setting and planning. Whatever the case, we often take for granted that seed time and harvest time will always remain. We will always reap what we sow.
Unfortunately this is true in all aspects, good and bad. I want to encourage you today to keep going if you are indeed on the right track. Often times, you are doing the right things but not doing them enough to see the results you desire.
Lord teach me to hold on even when I don’t see the results I desire to see, especially when I am walking in obedience to what You have commissioned me to do. I know that everything will not happen overnight but I often get discouraged when it takes longer than expected. Help me to no longer judge by what I see but by what You have already spoken. In Jesus’s name Amen.
CALL TO ACTION: It has been said to change a habit, a behavior pattern it takes consistent action over 21 days. What can you commit to doing consistently for the next 21 days in order to see the change you desire?
