Stretched…

Standard

We must be able to recognize stress points in our lives and when we need a time out. Otherwise we find ourselves stretched beyond our breaking point. If this is you today, I want to pray for you.

Lord, I cry out for those that are at the point of breaking. Those that have been stretched beyond their own limits. Those that are depleted and still trying to make things happen. Today, I speak peace to their weary souls. I speak calm and a release from the pressures that they have even placed upon themselves. Grant them the grace to let go today. The grace to relax and unwind in Your presence. Grant them the grace to just breathe and be free knowing You are in control. In Jesus name Amen

God says, “Stop fighting and know that I am God! I am the one who defeats the nations; I am the one who controls the world.”
Psalms 46:10 ERV

To Be Loved By You

Standard

Praise be to the Lord, for he showed me the wonders of his love when I was in a city under siege. 22 In my alarm I said am cut off  from your sight!” Yet you heard my cry for mercy when I called to you for help. Psalm 31:21-22 NIV

love

Today as I sit reflecting on love and grace in my life I realize that You have always been there, even in the times I felt You abandoned me. I realize now that my feelings do not dictate Your actions. My feelings do not tell me the truth about Your love for me. My feelings cannot even begin to fathom the depths of Your love for me. I’m fragile and fail at times, in need of Your strength and Your resilience. You are strong and powerful, yet oh so gentle in Spirit. Your love is too grand to even measure.

It is so overwhelming knowing that I am held even in the times I feel alone. It is so refreshing to know that You are not like man, You are not here just because of what I can give.

You are here because You love me for me.

I so love the way you love me.

I love the way You calm my fears when I am shaken.

I love the way You whisper my name to let me know You are near and I am loved by You.  Oh to sense Your presence in those times of loneliness and feel Your embrace when I am weary and afraid. There is none like You Oh God.

You are my Peace.

You are my Rock.

You are my Hope.

You are the Lover of my soul, in You I find peace.

In You I find rest. In You I find the grace to continue on.

Thank You Lord for reminding me that You are still here. You have not forgotten about me. You have not forsaken me. You are working even when I can’t see it. Even when I don’t believe it. Thank you. My fears were real. They were valid and You heard me. You heard my cry. You answered every complaint showing me that You care. You are concerned about me. You are with me. You got me. Thank you.

Grace and Peace

It’s in the waiting….

Standard

Sometimes we just need to stop, breathe and listen to what God is saying. Life can be so busy at times that we miss the important instructions we need to go forward. Give yourself permission to sit still and enjoy the stillness of the moment.
That brief pause may hold the key to the breakthrough you have been awaiting.

Lord teach us how to be still and wait in your presence. Teach us how important it is to listen for your still small voice in the midst of our daily routine.

Thank you for always being available for us. In Jesus name, Amen

Keep it together

Standard

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6‭-‬7 NLT

Father, teach us to rest in Your love for us. Too often we get sidetracked by the cares and the concerns of this world. We allow what we see dictate our belief, our emotions, our hope. We are soo easily moved by the media and what is happening around us. Remind us of the need to cast our cares upon you. Remind us of the need to keep our attention on Your promises to us. Remind us to come to  You when we are worried, alone, tired, lonely, and afraid. Remind us that You are with us. You will never leave us nor forsake us. You are our hope. You are our peace. You are our shelter in the time of the storm. We trust You. We offer this prayer in Jesus name Amen.

Grace and Peace,

It’s Time to Pull Back

Standard

satisfy

You may want to pull back from social media when you become consumed with how many likes you are receiving.

You may want to pull back from the accolades of men when it is determining your self-worth and your value.

You may want to pull back when you realize you have become addicted to the applause of others and life seems meaningless when you are no longer receiving it.

When you start becoming everything to everyone and your opinion matters more than God’s; it is time to pull back. We should always strive to be a vessel for God and not God Himself. We have been blessed with gifts and talents to strengthen and motivate others, but it should not take precedence over their relationship with God.

Maybe it is time for you to take a time out and examine your life. Are you thirsty for approval? Are you hungry for relationship? It may be time to unplug from social media, technology, and get alone with God. He is able to satisfy the longing within you.

Lord, may we always take joy in doing your will. May we long for your instructions and write them upon on my heart. When we step outside of your will nudge us back in the right direction. Lead us to the place of truth within our inner man to help us understand we no longer need approval of men; we already have your approval. We are fearfully and wonderfully made in Your image. Fill us again until we overflow with more of You in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Shalom,

Mary

No More Baggage

Standard

isaiah 617

Take control of your life today! Refuse to allow bad decisions to dictate your actions any longer. Every day you are awarded new mercies, new opportunities, and a clean slate. Go ahead, pick yourself up and keep moving forward.

No more living by feelings and emotions, they are not reliable. Live by what you know is true, the Word of God. His promises are real. Make an exchange with God this year and be empowered through your union with Him. If you don’t know Him as Lord and Savior, today is a great day to begin.

Father, as we come to you today to lay down the baggage of fear, doubt, insecurity, shame, etc. we make an exchange with you for the oil of gladness, confidence, boldness, and peace. We thank you for sending your Son Jesus to die on the cross that we may walk in freedom. Today, we say no to every attempt to sway us from your best for our lives. We say no to fear and anxiety playing on our emotions. Today, we choose to walk in stability.

Grace and Peace,

Mary

What’s On Your Mind?

Standard

thoughts

Joshua 1:8 NLT says “Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.”

Did you know what you think about the most determines your outcome in life? I am sure it is hard to believe that thoughts can play such a big role in our lives. The Lord’s desire was not for us to meditate on what we eat, drink, wear, or fantasize about who we would like to be with.

He did not tell us to meditate on immoral thoughts and actions. He instructed us to meditate on His Word.   I discovered that I used my thought life and my imagination as a way of escape from the real world.  Why is it that we find it easier to play thoughts over and over in our minds that grieve the Holy Spirit of God?  There is an old adage that I am sure you are familiar with, an idle mind is the devil’s workshop.

Colossians 3:2 (Amplified) tells us to set our minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth. If you focus continually on the things you desire to have, then you will constantly be in pursuit of those things. If you set your mind and keep it set on the Word of God and that which is holy and pure, then you will align your life with it. (Romans 8:5).

Again, we are ruled by our thoughts. If we desire to prosper and see success, then we have to begin to change what we are thinking. This can happen by renewing our minds in the Word of God (Romans 12:2). We have to make a conscious effort to see change and pursue it. The Lord has enabled us to do it.  So set your mind and keep it set on the Word of God.  Find a scripture in the area that you struggle in and roll it over and over in your thoughts daily and watch change take place in your life!

Father, remind me daily, that great peace have they that love your Word. I pray that the mediation of my heart will please you.
