Exodus 14:15-17 (AMP) The Lord said to Moses, Why do you cry to Me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward! 16 Lift up your rod and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, and the Israelites shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea. 17 And I, behold, I will harden (make stubborn and strong) the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall go [into the sea] after them; and I will gain honor over Pharaoh and all his host, his chariots, and horsemen.
“Why do you cry to me?” was one of the first things that caught my attention in these verses. First of all, Moses wasn’t the one that was crying out- it was the children of Israel. He responded to their cries through Moses. How often have we gotten to a place that looked impossible in the natural and panicked and the Lord had to allow someone else to come to you and prompt you to move forward?
Notice, His instructions were for them to go forward. Go forward not knowing what the outcome would be; they were trapped on every side. He also told Moses to use the authority He had already given him by way of the rod. This is so awesome because the Lord has placed in each of us the authority and the faith we need to carry out the orders and the plans He has for us. We have within us the boldness and the power to proceed. It is not based on our own strength but on His.
The second thing to pay attention to is God’s plans for the Egyptian army. There are times we are faced with challenges or enemies to our destiny on every side. It is often through those obstacles that the Lord increases us, blesses us, and promotes us. When we allow His perfect work to be done, He destroys what is hindering us.
Lord thank you that every enemy we face is not greater than you. Thank you for overshadowing us with your love and your grace. You are our rock, our salvation, our strength, our peace, provision, and so much more. May we begin to recognize your grace is available to us daily. May we come to know that you have our best interest at heart and no matter what we face you have already planned our way to victory. In Jesus name Amen
Grace and Peace,
