It will be well..

He set my feet upon a rock, steadying my footsteps and establishing my path. Psalm 40:2b AMP

2018 came in with a vengeance. On top of seeing snow in unexpected places this year, we have seen a number of tragedies, deaths, illnesses, among other life-altering challenges. It’s almost as if the bottom fell out and many of you find yourselves trying to find sure footing again. Is there a place of certainty that I can find rest? Is there hope for me, my family, and our future?

Even in this moment of transition I speak peace to the weary souls that are at a place of turmoil. I speak rest to your minds from the anxious toil. Cease striving trying to figure it all out and rest in the unfailing love of the Father; for He gives rest to His beloved.

We must learn to accept His sovereignty and receive His grace. There are situations we will never be able to understand. We are to trust that God has it all under control and He is working it all together for our good. He will also reveal His plan as time unfolds.

2nd Corinthians 12:9 encourages us to rely on the grace of God; “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Paul wanted God to remove the problems he faced because they seemed too much for him to bear, but God knowing all too well the purpose of those trials encouraged Him that His power was all He needed.

I challenge you today as you read this to take a step back and ask God to help you see your situation through His eyes. In times like these we need Him to broaden our perspective. As He does take comfort in the rest that He has already provided; be still my friend and know that He is God. There is nothing too hard for our God to handle. When everything around you is shaking, He is a firm foundation. He is the rock of ages. He knows how to steady you and establish your footing on solid ground.

Father, teach me to rest in your unfailing love. I admit I get lost trying to find my way through life’s ups and downs. I don’t always know where to go or what to think. I don’t always know what to do, but you do. May I take comfort in knowing that Your purposes for me will be fulfilled. There is nothing that I will encounter that can separate me from Your love. Thank you, Father. In Jesus’s name Amen.

Decision, Decisions, Decisions

Standard

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Sometimes I wish it was easy to make decisions that would satisfy everyone and leave us in a good place as well but this is simply not the case. There are times we have to choose between right and wrong, good and bad,  or just not now.
It is always a question of who will be upset or who will we disappoint, but ultimately in the end, we have to know that our decisions are based upon the wisdom of God.

Live for an audience of one; is the one principle that helps me in my daily decision making. At the end of the day, I need to know that God is pleased with my choices. I need to know that my decisions have helped me to keep
my integrity. I need to know that my decisions are pure and not based on pleasing people. I need to know that I made a choice that will not jeopardize the plan God has for my life or the life of my family.

My challenge to you today is to make sure that you are making decisions that you can live with 10 years from now. Always ponder,  how will this choice directly affect my relationship with God, myself, and my family. It is so easy to make
emotional decisions but those decisions end  up causing us more problems down the road. It is my prayer that you will take time to acknowledge God and chase down the decisions you make.  Write out a pros and cons list; challenge yourself to get wisdom from
those you respect and have your best interest at heart. Most of all, ask God for wisdom.
James 1:5 (NIV) If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

Lord, I pray for my brothers and sisters that are at the point of indecision today. They don’t know whether to go right or left right now. Everything seems so pertinent and urgent at this very moment. I ask that You give them a sense of
calm and peace so that they can make a good quality decision that will benefit their lives and their well-being. I ask that You guide them with Your eyes upon them as they move forward. Thank You for always being there for us and teaching us through the challenges
we face daily. In Jesus name, Amen.

What Are You Saying ?

Standard

2 Corinthians 4:13 (NIV)
It is written: “I believed; therefore I have spoken.” Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak,

Our words should be faith-filled, laced with the confident trust and belief that God is truly able to do what He has promised. No, your circumstances may not line up with the word that God has spoken, but when you take it upon yourself to continue not only believing but speaking what you believe, you shall see what you are saying. That belief works both ways. If you believe your circumstances over what God has spoken then you will speak fear and doubt.

Somethings take time to grow. Just as the natural seed the farmer plants has to develop roots and receive the proper nourishment, it is the same with our words. We must be patient even as the farmer, allowing the seeds of character, hope, perseverance, and even the earnest expectation to be worked into our lives.

I encourage you today to pay close attention to your words. Give yourself a fair chance to see the harvest you are expecting by speaking what God has already said, not what you see with your natural eyes. The Bible tells us plainly that the just shall live by his faith. Faith is not based on what we see, but on the hope that the eternal God will perform that which He has promised. Faith is that confident hope that we will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Faith is that assurance that God never reneges on his promises. He is more than capable of bringing to pass what He has already spoken. God invites us into partnership with Him when we believe what He says.  Again I ask, what are you saying?

Father I pray that faith-filled words will begin to come forth out of our mouths. May we fill our hearts with your Holy Word so that we may speak what you say and not what we see. May we take heed to meditate on Your principles day and night in order to receive the nourishment our soul desperately needs. In Jesus name Amen

How’s Your Faith Walk?

If you have not been walking by faith, start today.

Your spiritual life depends on it.

Your destiny depends on it.

For without faith, it is impossible to please God. (Hebrews 11:6)

Father, we are so accustomed to living by what we see, forgive us for losing sight of your commands when times get tough; Thank you for reminding us that we are your children and you will never leave us nor forsake us.

Grace and Peace,

Mary
