Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
Sometimes I wish it was easy to make decisions that would satisfy everyone and leave us in a good place as well but this is simply not the case. There are times we have to choose between right and wrong, good and bad, or just not now.
It is always a question of who will be upset or who will we disappoint, but ultimately in the end, we have to know that our decisions are based upon the wisdom of God.
Live for an audience of one; is the one principle that helps me in my daily decision making. At the end of the day, I need to know that God is pleased with my choices. I need to know that my decisions have helped me to keep
my integrity. I need to know that my decisions are pure and not based on pleasing people. I need to know that I made a choice that will not jeopardize the plan God has for my life or the life of my family.
My challenge to you today is to make sure that you are making decisions that you can live with 10 years from now. Always ponder, how will this choice directly affect my relationship with God, myself, and my family. It is so easy to make
emotional decisions but those decisions end up causing us more problems down the road. It is my prayer that you will take time to acknowledge God and chase down the decisions you make. Write out a pros and cons list; challenge yourself to get wisdom from
those you respect and have your best interest at heart. Most of all, ask God for wisdom.
James 1:5 (NIV) If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
Lord, I pray for my brothers and sisters that are at the point of indecision today. They don’t know whether to go right or left right now. Everything seems so pertinent and urgent at this very moment. I ask that You give them a sense of
calm and peace so that they can make a good quality decision that will benefit their lives and their well-being. I ask that You guide them with Your eyes upon them as they move forward. Thank You for always being there for us and teaching us through the challenges
we face daily. In Jesus name, Amen.
Grace and Peace,
Mary
