What On Earth Am I Here For?

And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.  Hebrews 12:1-3 NIV

Born knowing He would die for the sin of mankind, that was the assignment given to Jesus. His life was already mapped out for Him before the foundations of this world were formed.  He knew that the sin of mankind would be placed on His shoulders. He knew He would be beaten and bruised for our transgressions and the chastisement of our peace would be placed upon Him.  His destiny was to lay down His life for a people of whom, many would reject Him.
Jesus was motivated by the joy of seeing us reconnected to God. His purpose was evident in His words as well as His actions.   Even though He struggled in the Garden of Gethsemane, He chose to keep going in spite of the pain that was on the horizon. His unselfish act kept Him focused on the end result. We can take lessons from the life of Jesus.
Just as Jesus was born with a purpose, so were you and I. God set eternity in our hearts from the moment we got here. He knew we would need something to keep driving us forward. When we take our eyes off what we think and feel and focus on those God has called us to reach, it should motivate us to keep moving forward as well. It is my prayer that the life of Jesus will bring comfort and hope to you as you continue towards your God-given purpose.  If you are struggling with what that purpose is today; take a moment and ask God to reveal to you His plan for your life.
Lord we want to take this time to thank you for the birth of your Son Jesus. Thank you for allowing Him to walk upon the Earth and be the example for us. May His attitude towards pleasing you and serving the purpose for which He came become our very own. In Jesus name, Amen.

Grace and Peace to you,

You are not a quitter..

Ephesians 3:16 (NLT)

Grace and Peace be upon you today,

You Are My Hiding Place

“You are a hiding place for me; You, Lord, preserve me from trouble, You surround me with songs and shouts of deliverance. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!”  Psalm 32:7 (AMP)

Remember as a child having that one place you could hide and feel secure when you were afraid?  It may have been under the bed, or in the closet.  Wherever it was, you knew without a shadow of a doubt all would be well if you could just get there.

That is what worship, experiencing the presence of God, has become for me: a hiding place. As fear rears its ugly head I know that His presence is the one place I can run. While there, He comforts and reassures me that I am safe.

There is nothing more soothing than knowing the love of our Heavenly Father. He promises to never leave us nor forsake us. Granted, there may be times we feel as though He has neglected us, but He is always there. His Word is filled with precious promises to assure us of that fact. Here is another gentle reminder from Psalm 27:5, ”For in the day of trouble He will hide me in His shelter; in the secret place of His tent will He hide me.”

Allow the Lord an opportunity to become your hiding place today.  Whisper a prayer, read about His promises in the book of Psalms, or listen to songs of praise that glorify God and His ability to work on your behalf. Allow Him an opportunity to reassure you and provide the answers you need. Most of all, allow His love to overshadow you.

Father, wrap us in your arms today, and hide us as the storms of life rage round about us.  Reassure us that we are the apples of your eye and that you will never leave us nor forsake us. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.

Take Action

When you are feeling frenzied today, before running to others for answers and comfort, consult the Lord.

How has the Lord revealed Himself to you as a place of shelter in your daily life?

Just in case you forgot..

Even though others may have cast you aside and abandoned you, the Lord your God never will. He promised to always be with you. Take courage knowing that He is a God of His Word.

Be strong! Be courageous! Do not be afraid of them! For the Lord your God will be with you. He will neither fail you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 (TLB)

Lord I pray for all my brothers and sisters that have been dealing with issues of abandonment on today; those that have been rejected and feels as though they have been forgotten about. I pray that you will minister healing to their hearts. I thank you that you have not forsaken them.

Assure them of  your love. Your Word says that nothing can separate us from the love of God.  Assure them of your open arms of grace. When we come to you, you never turn us aside. Assure them of their place in your heart. Your Word says that we are the apple of your eyes.

Thank you that you are always there. You are a very present help for them in their time of need. May they experience your peace today. In Jesus name Amen

Grace and Peace,

Are You Fully Surrendered….

How often have you allowed a few days, weeks, months to pass before reading the Bible?

How often have you pursued your own desires and the pleasures of this world?

How often do you bring your thoughts under control of the Holy Spirit?

Does your life reflect the will of your Heavenly Father?

It’s time to take inventory of where we are spiritually. The Lord longs to help us in our times of need but we must first surrender ourselves to Him.

Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now Your word do I keep [hearing, receiving, loving, and obeying it]. Psalm 119:67 AMP

Do not love or cherish the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him. 1 John 2:15 (AMP)

That means you must not give sin a vote in the way you conduct your lives. Don’t give it the time of day. Don’t even run little errands that are connected with that old way of life. Throw yourselves wholeheartedly and full-time—remember, you’ve been raised from the dead!—into God’s way of doing things. Sin can’t tell you how to live. After all, you’re not living under that old tyranny any longer. You’re living in the freedom of God. Romans 6:12-14 (MSG)

[Not in your own strength] for it is God Who is all the while effectually at work in you [energizing and creating in you the power and desire], both to will and to work for His good pleasure and satisfaction and delight. Philippians 2:13 (AMP)

Father forgive us for picking up your Word only after our ways fail us. Forgive us for not remaining focused and intent on doing your will. Too often, we get caught up in our ever day routine and lose sight of your will for our lives. Forgive us for giving ourselves over to every thought, craving, and desire, for Your Word says we should not give any part of our body over to sin. Help us Lord to get ourselves back on track fully committed to you and your plans for our lives. Help us to submit to your good will and pleasure. Help us to rely on your Strength and not our own. Help us to surrender our will to yours. We know that you have our best interest at heart. In Jesus name Amen

Grace and Peace to you!

What If I Am The Real Enemy

The sick man answered Jesus, “Sir, I don’t have anyone to put me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I’m trying to get there, someone else steps into the pool ahead of me.” 8 Jesus told the man, “Get up, pick up your cot, and walk.” 9 The man immediately became well, picked up his cot, and walked. John 5:7-9 (GW)

The truth is sometimes I like where I am. I want the finished work without putting forth the necessary effort. I want it handed to me on a silver platter. There are times I feel I deserve that much after everything I have endured. I am entitled to something being free and easy. I have suffered enough! Why do I have to work for it Lord? Welcome to my venting session with the Lord.

This particular morning as I read the passage here in John 5, I could relate all too well to the man that lay by the water all these years. I had become tired of fighting and wanted nothing more than for God to supernaturally bring deliverance to every area of struggle. No more relying on grace, no more seeking Him for comfort; just with one touch from His hand. I wanted Him to make this all go away.

At that very moment, I sensed the Holy Spirit assuring me that would defeat the purpose of all that I had gone through at this point in my life. What would happen if I failed to learn the lessons from this last season? Yes it may be hard to keep allowing the purification process to continue. He has been working in me to rid me of every hindrance that would keep me from walking in His best; pride, trust issues, and resentment, just to name a few.

I want nothing more than to be in a place where I can receive fully from Him. That’s my heart’s desire, but what if I am the real enemy? My giving up and holding on to these things would be a greater defeat than falling prey to Satan. Nope! I can’t have that. I have come too far to allow him the victory. I decided to get up and apply the lessons that the Lord was teaching and I encourage you to do the same. His grace is sufficient!

Prayer: Father all too often I want to follow my feelings and just throw in the towel. I know you love me and want what is best for me, but it is so easy to just give up. I realize that I am not always the only one here; I pray that you will encourage my brothers and sisters that are dealing with this same issue. Strengthen us all in our inner man and help us to gird up the loins of our minds. Teach us to hold fast to your hands as you guide us along the paths that are best for us. In Jesus name. Amen

Friday Motivation….

Friday Motivation....

No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it,[a] but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
Philippians 3:13-14 (NLT)
