Peace be still!

Everyday we are faced with the choice to rest in the promises of God or to stress over the problems we encounter. It should be an easy decision to make but yet we find ourselves often caught between two opinions. On one hand we want so much to trust and believe that God will do just what He says. On the other hand we find ourselves doubting that He actually cares. After all, God has so much more on His plate than to be concerned about our issues.
I am so glad that God is not like man. He is much greater than we can ever imagine. His love for us spans wider than the ocean. Before we were even a thought, He knew us. He presdestined us, made us a part of His master plan. That should be grounds for our trust. I have found that it is much easier to trust a God that has a proven track record. I would rather take my chances with God any day than to walk in fear and doubt on a regular basis. I have been there and done that too many times. Today, I choose the peace that comes with trusting that God will perform what He has promised. I may not know when. I may not know how, but I can be confident that He never fails. He has proven Himself faithful time and time again.

Lord it is so easy to get caught up in the turmoil of everyday life and to focus on what we see rather than what You have said. It should always be an easy choice to trust you and rest in Your promises but even the best of us struggle. Teach us daily to renew our mind on Your promises and meditate in the scriptures that speak of Your love, grace, and assurance. May our hearts take courage in knowing that You have left us Your peace. In Jesus name Amen

You got this!

When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. Luke 5:4‭-‬6 NKJV

Lord,  help us to walk out the path that You have given us with a spirit of boldness and tenacity knowing that you will not let us fall. You have called us to walk by faith and not by what we see. Help us I pray, to move forward trusting in who we are and what You have placed in us. In Jesus name, Amen.

For the Love of God!

Some of the best conversations with God start out as complaints. What I love about God is that He allows us to share our disappointments, our heartaches, our offenses with Him. After all, He already knows.  This is true intimacy. When you
can bring your pain to the person you feel hurt you and be open and honest about it knowing that He has your best interest at heart; that’s love. Most relationships struggle because there is no real intimacy. We tend to hide our true feelings. We fail to be
honest about what is really going on inside of us. When you have a relationship that is grounded in trust and a deep love for each other it produces a freedom that can’t be described.

I believed David best described this relationship in Psalm 32:5 when He says, “I acknowledged my sin to You, and my iniquity I did not hide. I said, I will confess my transgressions to
the Lord [continually unfolding the past till all is told]—then You [instantly] forgave me the guilt and iniquity of my sin.!
(Amplified Bible)   David knew He sinned before God. He knew His actions were not in line with what God
had already communicated in His Word to us, but He found no fear in sharing what He did.

Today, your sin before God may have been through mere words, or wrong thoughts, or like me, you threw a temper tantrum like a two year old because you couldn’t have your way. Wherever you find yourself today, I challenge
you not to turn away from His love.  We don’t always understand everything God is doing in our lives. We don’t always like the paths He leads us to. We don’t always like the assignments He may have given us but one thing is certain; He loves us with an everlasting
love.  God always has our best interest at heart even when we don’t understand.

God, I want to trust You in the seasons of uncertainty in my life but I find it more and more difficult at times. Help me to be reminded of Your track record in my life. Help me to understand You and Your ways even when
I don’t trust Your acts. Thank You that I don’t have to be afraid to talk to You about any part of my life, in fact You welcome the fellowship.  Thank You for loving me so much, Daddy.

Journaling Assignment: Are you offended by what God is doing or not doing in your life? Apply your ear to His heart and listen as He speaks to you.

Keep it together

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6‭-‬7 NLT

Father, teach us to rest in Your love for us. Too often we get sidetracked by the cares and the concerns of this world. We allow what we see dictate our belief, our emotions, our hope. We are soo easily moved by the media and what is happening around us. Remind us of the need to cast our cares upon you. Remind us of the need to keep our attention on Your promises to us. Remind us to come to  You when we are worried, alone, tired, lonely, and afraid. Remind us that You are with us. You will never leave us nor forsake us. You are our hope. You are our peace. You are our shelter in the time of the storm. We trust You. We offer this prayer in Jesus name Amen.

Where are you placing your trust?

In this day and age, nothing seems certain anymore. There was once a time when commitment mattered. Families were stronger. Jobs were stable. Friendships were solid. Churches were dependable. People genuinely cared for each other.  But something changed over the years.

Where are you placing your trust? I am reminded today of a well-known hymn:

My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus’ name.  On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand; all other ground is sinking sand.

The truth is, that people will fail us. Jobs will be lost. Death is a certainty in life. But in the midst of it all, there is hope. Jesus is that hope to a lost a dying world.

When all else fails, He promised to never leave us or forsake us. Jesus came that we may have life and have it more abundantly. We were never promised that life would be free of difficulty, as Jesus says in John 16:33: “In this world you will have trouble.” But it doesn’t stop there; He goes on to say, “But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

That, my friend, is good news. That is hope you can count on. In Him is where our trust should be placed. In Him is where we find hope to outlast life’s unpleasant moments.

On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand. I offer that hope to you today. Will you receive Him?

Father, thank You again for the hope You have given us through Your Son Jesus. It is such an honor to have a friend, brother, intercessor, and most of all Lord and Savior in Him. Thank You for counting us worthy of Your love. Thank You for allowing us to experience life everlasting through our connection with Jesus. When all else fails, He is our one true Hope. Amen.

Take Action

Spend a few moments meditating on John 16:33. What troubles are you experiencing in your life right now? Take them to Christ, and be encouraged that He has already overcome this world.

Be Still

Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Psalm 37:7 (NLT)

be still

I have learned through various situations, that there are some processes we have to allow the Lord to complete the work that He began.  He knows what is best for each of us and He will indeed perfect all that concerns us.

Be still and know that He is God and He will bring you to your expected end.

Father, teach us how to trust you totally with our lives; comfort our hearts and grant us assurance as we watch you work.  Help us to know that You are a faithful and a loving God and assure us that we can trust you at all times.

Grace and Peace,

Just in case you forgot..

Even though others may have cast you aside and abandoned you, the Lord your God never will. He promised to always be with you. Take courage knowing that He is a God of His Word.

Be strong! Be courageous! Do not be afraid of them! For the Lord your God will be with you. He will neither fail you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 (TLB)

Lord I pray for all my brothers and sisters that have been dealing with issues of abandonment on today; those that have been rejected and feels as though they have been forgotten about. I pray that you will minister healing to their hearts. I thank you that you have not forsaken them.

Assure them of  your love. Your Word says that nothing can separate us from the love of God.  Assure them of your open arms of grace. When we come to you, you never turn us aside. Assure them of their place in your heart. Your Word says that we are the apple of your eyes.

Thank you that you are always there. You are a very present help for them in their time of need. May they experience your peace today. In Jesus name Amen
