Where’s Your Passion?

On the day the Lord gave the Israelites victory over the Amorites, Joshua prayed to the Lord in front of all the people of Israel. He said, “Let the sun stand still over Gibeon, and the moon over the valley of Aijalon.”  So the sun stood still and the moon stayed in place until the nation of Israel had defeated its enemies.      Joshua 10:12-13 (NLT)

I love the passion Joshua showed in the above scripture. He was determined to get the victory the Lord had promised to him. He was so determined that he asked God for the impossible to help him accomplish it.

Much like Joshua, we need to be passionate about what the Lord has shown us or even spoken to us. When you are passionate, you learn to run through troops and leap over walls. Nothing stops you from going after what you want. Let your passion show in your actions not just in your words.

“Joshua prayed to the Lord in front of all the people of Israel. He said, “Let the sun stand still over Gibeon, and the moon over the valley of Aijalon.”

Joshua spoke before the people. He did not wait until he was by himself. He was not ashamed of His faith. He was not ashamed to call on the Lord for help in the midst of his crisis.

It is that type of passion that will drive us to continue even in the midst of adversity. Take inventory of your life and relationship with the Lord today. Can your passion be seen by others?  Is your obedience to His Voice being demonstrated in your actions? Is your belief in what He has said obvious?  If not, make the necessary adjustments.

Be passionate! Let that passion ooze out of you into the lives of others.  Don’t just do enough to get by; push past good to better, from better to best, and from best to greatness. There is so much more on the inside of you.  My prayer for you today is that you will begin to allow your passionate love for Him to spill out in your everyday life that others may see it and be drawn by it. I pray that you will fan into flames the dreams and the passion that lies on the inside of you for life again. Live your best life! There is so much more in you!

Lord, too often our passion diminishes in times of adversity instead of building. I pray that we will allow our confidence in you and your ability to work in our lives to grow so that others may see our passion for you.

Has your passion for life been disappearing lately?
