Let It Go

Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail).                   Psalm 55:22 (AMP)

It’s time to let it go. No, you are not perfect.  You said some things you shouldn’t have said.  You made some mistakes and took some wrong turns.  Even in your quest for healing you inflicted pain on the ones you loved.  It’s now time to let it go. No longer wallow in self-pity, guilt and shame. Crying over spilled milk does not aid in cleaning it up. It only prolongs the mess.  That is exactly what we do when we continue to roll the thoughts of our failures, abuse, and hardships around and around in our minds.    Anxiety begins to creep in. Feelings of helpless and abandonment arises. Why can’t they see my pain you cry; only to realize that you are a prisoner to your thought life.   It’s time to let it go.

Forgive yourself. Free yourself from the weight of perfection.  Free yourself from the unforgivness you have held onto for all these years. Free yourself from the fear that everything will fall apart if you are not in control. When you take a closer look you will see that your hands are actually in God’s way. He wants to bring resolution and peace but how long will you continue enabling the pain? How long will you continue holding on to the shame? When will you realize that you can walk in freedom from your past? The signs you see today are only symptoms of a greater pain. You never took time to confront the real issue.  When you refuse to nurse it any longer you will realize the prison doors are open and freedom is available to you.

Yes, It does hurt to heal; however, a decision must be made. You cannot remain in hiding, denying what is really going on within you.  You will either hurt to heal or continue hurting for a lifetime, the choice is yours. Face your fears today and deal with the heart of the issues. Admit you have been wounded, rejected, ostracized, or abused. Admit your failures, mistakes, and shortcomings.  Face the truth about where you are.

If you are hurting say it. Scream it! Let it all out.  Far too long you have kept the pain balled up on the inside of you. It is eating away at your very existence.  It is getting harder for you to enjoy your everyday life.  Begin your path to healing today by confessing to the Lord that you can’t handle it on your own.  Solicit His strength for your times of weaknesses and allow Him to walk you through this process. He knows where you are. He is ready and available to help you.   I know I have been there.  He will never turn you away. Receive your healing today.

Father, thank you for the love and the healing that you have already made available to us through the death of your son Jesus. You have sent your Word to heal us and to deliver us from destruction. No longer do we have to hold on to the past mistakes, abuse, struggles. We can now freely cast them upon you because you care for us. I pray that you will minister peace to our hearts today as we come to you to cast our cares, fears, anxiety and failures upon you. Wrap us in your loving arms and mend our broken hearts.  Thank you for the grace that you have made available to us let it go and move forward. Establish our feet on a solid path to wholeness and healing, I pray In Jesus name Amen.
